All New to Me

This is all new to me; this blogging. I've spent most of my life behind 1) an instrument, 2) a lead or 3) a speaker. I have always been the greatest picker that was never heard...of.

I have had a lifetime of playing for others, either on the road or in a studio. And I have to admit that I loved it. I am one of the few musicians that you would ever meet that cared nothing for the limelight and everything for the music. And that is okay. I didn't suffer through the indignities of fame and got to go home knowing no crazies were waiting outside, no security guards were needed and demands on my off-time was required.

Not that I didn't have to put up with the negative end of the music industry. I have had to endure plenty of egos, groupies, deaths, wars, and dealings with the negative end of the business that would drive the calmest of people bat-shit crazy.

I suppose, after thirty-three years, that is why I decided to get the hell out of dodge (Nashville, New York City, L.A.) and head for the quiet hills of  Fort Davis Texas and nothingness. Quiet and solitary with nothing more than a couple of goats, whistling winds, the actual Fort Davis and just a few who know who I am...and don't care.

My closest neighbor is about 15 miles away and he makes guitars for a living. He doesn't want to be disturbed either. Pretty good way to go I'd say. So after thirty-plus years of avoiding this thing called 'blogging' I thought I would give it a try.

Now let's see, now, I practice an art of another kind, drawing, woodwork, and embroidery which I sell locally.  I teach music to some of the young native kids in the area

So I hope those who read this, don't become too bored. And thus, the end of my very first blog.
